KIRЯA – SOUNDS FROM AN EMPTY ROOM
What is a girl supposed to expect when the Metallian himself hands me a broken case with a CD-R inside whose cover is the photo of four sad guys? Well, be honest for a start. This band is Kirяa with the Cyrillic character. It is safe to say that the band will be of little interest to our readers. Sounds From An Empty Room slots in a couple of hard riffs and guitar wails, but most of the material is both alternative and soft rock. With the right tweaks these guys can stink as badly as Maroon 5 or Staind or Nickleback, but are not that terrible today. Forgive Me is as commercial as anything on adult rock radio. Singer Jesse Williamson clearly has major commercial chops. It is a slow rock tune made for the masses and is as well produced. It is amazingly professional and mature for a young band, but it is not metal so be warned lads and lasses. Hey guys, please do not become tattooed millionaire egos when you make it big. Contact the band through serta@cox.net or maelstrompr@gmail.com or visit http://www.kirramusic.com. - Anna Tergel
