History & Biography
Dan Swanö of Edge Of Sanity founded Nightingale as one of the many projects he maintained with this one focusing on goth, indie and progressive heavy rock and soon featuring his brother. The band signed with Edge Of Sanity’s label. It was meant to be a one-off record that just did not stop. Instead, it became an outlet for whatever Swanö was listening to during that time. The Closing Chronicles featured brother Dag under the pseudonym Tom Nouga. He remained with the act. The band unofficially went away in 2009, but returned five years later with another album. Retribution was meant to be called Bravado initially. The group appeared at the Rock Hard Festival in 2016.

Swanö has moved to Germany from his Swedish homeland. He is in half a dozen projects at any given moment. InsideOut Music began rereleasing Nightingale's albums in 2024.
