History & Biography There was a time when Japanese symbolism and cultural artefacts were popular or trendy in the West. Bands used to wear T-shirts with the Japanese flags, musicians had Japanese bandanas and everyone watched Shogun.
New York-based Ninja had a heart-shaped single called Eye On You in a limited edition in 1986. The band’s debut album was issued in 1987. A track was called L.A. Or Bust (not Tokyo?), which was odd as another Ninja was doing the rounds in Los Angeles. This was followed by a demo called S.W.A.K. in 1988. A.D. Marcell was on bass and John Capo was on drums.
Stanton became a tour manager and appropriately would tour with Loudness, as well as Twisted Sister and others. Twisted Sister’s manager had been instrumental in obtaining Loudness a US contract.
