History & Biography Ninkharsag started as the solo act of Armistead in 2009 before becoming a group in 2011. Destroyed By Design was the 2013 demo. The act opened for bands like Bal-Sagoth. Candlelight Records picked up the band and issued the group’s debut in 2015. The recording stemmed from 2012 actually. The group opened for Inquisition and Winterfylleth and played at Incineration fest. The Dread March Of Solemn Gods was released by Vendetta Records in 2021. Aleksandar Kokai was the bassist now.
The group cancelled an appearance at Darkness Over Cumbria citing a member’s surgery. The band played Damnation festival in 2023 and announced an EP, entitled The Black Swords Of Winter, for 2024. The band, Andracca, Devastator and Abduction were presenting their albums at a showcase in Manchester, England in February 2024. This was a Reaper Agency showcase. Vendetta Records was responsible for the 2025 EP, The Black Swords Of Winter.
Ninhursag or Ninmah was the earthly goddess of mountains and fertility in Sumeria.
