History & Biography
This crossover band was founded in Barcelona in 2013. A demo, called Sota El Cinturo D’Orio, was issued in 2013. Vali became the second vocalist in 2015. A split with death metal band Assot followed. The band toured Europe in the autumn of 2017.

After five years of silence, Spain-based Ósserp returned with Els Nous Cants De La Sibil·la, which was its third studio album. Two dozen or so labels, including Eternal Juggernaut Records and Kremón Records, were collaborating on this one. The group opened for Suffocation in Spain in the summer.

Reviews

ÓSSERP - ELS NOUS CANTS DE LA SIBIL·LA - ETERNAL JUGGERNAUT
Issued independently by the band, the Spain-based death/grind band’s latest translates into ‘The New Song Of Sibil,’ but be sure to know that this is no cheap conjurer of folk-ish garbage. This is ferocious, fast, furious and based on a bed of Napalm Death with added metallic elements and ambient passages. ‘Sibil’ refers to a mythical Mediterranean character. The vocals are harsh beyond imagination and the quasi-industrial noises that pop up at the beginning or in the middle of tracks are by-products of the type of crushing heaviness the group furls.
Tot Crema, the second track, is an amazing example of the amalgamation of face ripping brutality and heavy rhythmic ambiance. The disc starts with such mayhem that the listener could mistake it for industrial noise, but that is not this band’s story. Horrific violence and speed that is engulfing is. The lo-fi vocals change to clean one very seldom and are like a momentary yell. El Pes Del Buit offers slow motion and guttural vocals such as funeral doom band might deploy. There is a heavy drum sound and rattling cymbals. The drum sound is a weakness. It is common for newer recordings to have tinny and inconsequential drum sounds and, while the sound here is not the worst, the power is mostly amiss. The grindcore does not mean brief songs. They are longer than usual for this sub-genre. L'engany has bits of Necrophobic within. El Rival Mes Fort is also more metal and reminiscent of the Entombed debut.
This record is so heavy you won't be able to get it off the CD player. – Ali “The Metallian”
