History & Biography
The Montreal, Canada-based death metal band Point Blank Rage was founded in 2005. The very early singer was Marc-Antoine Rollet who was replaced by Alex LeBlanc (who would later join Neuraxis, which PBR had opened for) soon. The founders were Rollet, guitarist Maurizio and drummer Julien. Eric Marsan joined at the end of 2006.

The local Galy Records released the band’s debut two years later. The band played live for the first time to start 2007. Another gig was Galy Records’ fifth anniversary show. The band and Aborted announced the Slaughter & Apparatus Canadian tour. Maurizio left in 2007, but would rejoin the formation in 2013. The band was heard on the Trois-Rivières Metalfest 11 compilation next only. A new record finally emerged in 2012. The band was the twosome of Julien Mercier and singer and guitarist Eric Marsan now. Montreal-based Homicide issued a return demo, which included a song also called Point Blank Rage.

The act issued a demo called State Of Disaster in 2021. Galy Records had ceased releasing music. The demo contained a self-cover version of A New Pain from the debut record. On bass was Mike Sandev. He would leave in 2023 and be replaced by Dominique Dagenais whose first gig with the band was opening for Démence paying homage to its dead singer and guitarist Joël Lamontagne. Piranha Fest II was scheduled for Montreal, Canada on September 20th 2024. Bands like Sinister Shovel Headed Kill Machine, Neil Turbin (“40 Years of Fistful Of Metal set” because ‘sets’ were the latest trend), Blood Feast, Glacial Tomb, Malignancy, Point Blank Rage, Tombstoner and Zero State were playing. Eric Marsan had also joined DBC on guitar.
