History & Biography Putrid Pile of former Num Skull guitarist LaCanne has been essentially a solo act since 2000. Singer and instrumentalist Shaun LaCanne reported that he was inspired by solo act Insidious Decrepancy. The man uses a drum machine. The intention initially was also to recruit and have a full line-up.
The Bleed For Me demo of 2001 was distributed by United Guttural. The man introduced the material to the unwashed masses at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in 2001. Drummer Derek Hoffman (ex-Gorgasm) and guitarist Chuck Murray (ex-Swamp) came and went. Brandon White replaced Murray. The United Guttural label issued a 2003 album for the man. The cover depicted a wasteful scene. Putrid Pile was booked at the Maryland Deathfest 2003 and Milwaukee Metalfest 2003. Even more waste was depicted on the cover of the band’s split with Putrid Pile in 2005. The Pleasure In Suffering was censured in Germany years later. The Live At Obscene Extreme 2011 video was recorded in the Czech Republic and issued in 2012. A tour of Oceania was announced in 2013. There was a concert in Lima, Peru in 2024. The act was booked for Heavy Chicago II and Hawaii's Big Island Metal Bash in 2024.
Putrid Pile has used concert musicians on occasion.
