SHEPHERD - THE COLDEST DAY - EXILE ON MAINSTREAM
The Shepherd boys are either in their fifties or this record is one of the best impressions of Black Sabbath's Volume 4. All this band is lacking in order to pass its music as the Lost Sabbath tapes is the singer from Hellfueled. In any case, the Germans have already broken up and The Coldest Day is a posthumous listen. The lyric sheet is sparse at best, but given song titles like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. all the way to Doomsday it is plausible that the band is addressing the hand of God in shaping things. Speaking of the song Doomsday, it incorporates a hidden track and waves of noise and static. Otherwise, think of Shepherd as a bass-heavy rendition of what was once Sabbath and is again. - Ali "The Metallian"
