Reviews TESLA - REPLUGGED LIVE - SANCTUARY/EMI
To get this from a major label in 2001 is amazing. Past all the fads of the last few years full circle and receiving a genuine hard rock album is cool. What is even more cool is how Replugged Live (originally billed as Coming 'Atcha Live) is amazingly fresh. Formed in 1986, the Californians released music and toured for 10 years amassing a great number of fans in the USA, until five years ago saw the band members retreat to individual projects like Bar Seven and Soul Motor. The year 2000 was the year a lone show at home in Sacramento translated into a whole tour, talk of a covers album, rumours of a new album and the live tracks which are now here in our hands. All signs of five guys on stools performing acoustic jams be gone; replugged Live is a hard rocking album with a big sound. It is all nicely engineered to kick ass, with the band clearly having a great time and performing perfectly on the double CD. Who knows, perhaps The Metallian has to change his opinion of live albums! - Ali "The Metallian"
