Reviews WATCH THEM DIE - BASTARD SON - CENTURY MEDIA
Bastard Son is a peculiar album. While the bulk of the material is unbridled thrash metal the band incorporates much that deviates from the strict definition of that subgenre, but (and here's the thing) never loses its cutting edge power. Singer Pat Vigil takes the lead by delivering a rabid performance that will dislocate one's facilities. The rest of the band keeps pace by bashing together genuinely heavy, albeit with the above-mentioned complexity caveat, songs like Early Mourning, Battle Lust and Onslaught. However, songs like Throne Of Lies and several scattered segments give the band a sound with analogies to Exodus, Dew-Scented, Kreator, Deceased and Slayer. Now that is some list. Now if the band would get some kind of an image... - Anna Tergel
