Reviews WITH PASSION - IN THE MIDST OF BLOODIED SOIL - EARACHE
Receiving an album by a band whose name is With Passion and one has never heard of and then spotting the band's photograph which features six boring-looking guys, including a keyboardist, standing in a row is not exactly suggestive of an album to which one wants to pay attention. Luckily, the band's music tells another story.
With Passion is the type of a band which crams uncountable riffs and notes into every second of its music. These rain upon the listener with incessant consistency and set the songs on fire. The band puts the equivalent of another band's whole album's worth of material into each and every song, but somehow manages to never overwhelm the tune or lose the listener. That is With Passion's miracle. It is all technical, complex, fast and only interrupted by adequate number of instrumentals to space the grinding attack so as not to overpower anyone. The band members all seem adept at their craft and the ensemble must be very well rehearsed to pull off such tempo and speed breaks at the drop of a hat, but special mention has to go to the band's drummer Jacob Peete whose hands and feet work his instrument like no other. Surely, this man has to be one of the best drummers in the field. With Passion defeats the odds to be a seriously impressive band. - Ali "The Metallian"
