History & Biography
What is it with Brazilian bands featuring two family members? Sepultura? Incubus? Krisiun? The newest Abhorrence on the scene originates from Brazil and goes to work in the morning as a death metal band. The band was formed in 1997 but Fernando and Rangel have been playing together for at least two years earlier than that. The late 97 demo Ascension features three tracks: Reborn To Vengeance (updated on the debut album), Communication With The Deads and Horde Of The Demons. The demo was pressed on CD by Wild Rags. 1999 sees the demo triumph In Blasphemy and the band appears on Relapse's Brazilian compilation. Marcello Marzari has replaced Varnier on bass. Evil Vengeance is the label of Gene of Angelcorpse. although Listenable was interested in signing the band directly, it had to license the debut from Evil Vengeance who had just signed the band for an album. The debut was mastered at Erik Rutan's Dimensional Studio by the guitarist in Florida. Marcello Marzari of Rebaelliun was the band’s last bassist and played on a split.
