History Ab:norm was born in 1997 by former members of Crack Brain Society and Extrepating Extasy to bring together brutal and progressive metal. The last to join was singer Stass who at this time still fronted Crematory. Calling its output, "Next Generation Music" the band released its debut through Show No Mercy. Skyscraper Music licensed the album for Canada. A live video was produced in late 2000. The band had an album's worth of material ready to be recorded in 2002, yet had not secured a label. Another Mystic Circle member, guitarist Tobias, joined the band in 2005.
