History & Biography
Achelous was founded as a solo act by Chris Achelous in Athens, Greece in 2011. Chris Kappas joined in 2013. The ...A Moment Of Silence and Al Iskandar demos followed. The 2015 demo The Cold Winds Of Olympus was dedicated to Tristessa of Astarte who had died in 2014. The band's line-up went through upheaval when several members left in 2016 and then 2018.

Macedon was the debut album and released through a Greek label. Northern Winds was a live EP in 2021. More coldness followed with the release of The Icewind Chronicles in 2022. The act was booked for the Golden R. Festival in Greece in 2024. Greece-based heavy metal band Achelous signed with Cruz Del Sur Music and released a new album, called Sons Of Uppsala, in March of 2027.
