History & Biography
Marseille, France-based Acod (stylized as A.c.o.D) was founded by guitarist Chris and singer Fred in the summer of 2006 and released Point Zero in 2009. It was the band’s demo. The group became prolific live. The first album came two years later. There were two singers. Issuing label Axiis was a sub-label of the nazi label Drakkar. This went nowhere and the band next appeared with a demo called Another Path… in 2014. Demo songs appeared on the 2015 full-length demo subsequently as well. Inner Light was the 2016 demo. Guitarist Chris left the fold in 2017 after a stay of eleven years. Jérôme Grollier was now on guitar and bass.

A new album emerged in 2018. The Divine Triumph was the beginning of a trilogy for the band. Decapitated, Heart Attack and Acod toured Europe in 2019. There was an album with an elaborate title in 2022. It was called Fourth Reign Over Opacities And Beyond. The band was Jerome and Fred now. The band further had an EP, called Cryptic Curse, in 2023. The group appeared at Hellfest Open Air Festival in 2023. Acod had a live video for the song Habentis Maleficia, performed at Lions Metal Festival 2024. The song was taken from the Versets Noirs album, which was released by Hammerheart Records in 2024. This was the band’s fourth label. In the meantime, Gaétan Ponzio and Romain Aimar (Four-O-Five Code) played guitar at gigs for the band. The band was booked at Furiofest, Bridge To Hell and Metalearth Festival that year.
