History & Biography
The band was founded in 2004 and had a demo called Visions Of Inner Light And Deeper Thoughts in 2007. Lion Music announced June 15th 2017 as the release date for Finland-based Anthriel's new album, Transcendence. It followed its predecessor by seven years. Henrikki Markkula and Antti Horttana had joined in 2014.

The band released a ballad called Entwined in late 2025. The song was older, but was issued to commemorate the death of former bassist Klaus Erik Wirzenius. The man had drowned in Tampere, Finland while swimming in the Massunlahti Bay of Lake Näsijärvi on the 13th of August 2025. He was 37.
