History & Biography The band was founded in 2019. Into Madness was the 2021 demo. Blood Blast distribution posted to a few websites. The traditional defections included singer Spike McConnell and guitarist Gabriel Castro.
Canada-based tech death metal act Apogean had a full-length, entitled Cyberstrictive, through The Artisan Era in March 2024. It marked the debut of new vocalist Mac Smith (live vocalist of Decrepit Birth prior to his work here). Guitarist Jack Post joined in late 2023. The advance song Thousand-Yard Glare addressed “the damage of overconsumption and the dangers of desensitization in media. The general populace, on a daily basis, is bombarded with endless electronic stimulus (sic), which drastically affects every aspect of our lives and induces a pseudo-PTSD via photo-radiation.” The matter of photo radiation aside, the music video for Itus’ Sturgeon was partially directed by Apogean guitarist Dexter Forbes who contributed a guest guitar solo as well. There was also a video for the song Bluelight Sonata. Amusingly for a band which claimed "the album’s central theme of exploring the dark side of technology, highlights blue light from digital devices and its dangers," the band members reported "including collaborations in video games and licensing original compositions featured on ESPN. Some of the members are endorsed by musical instrument brands." Moreover, the band had a Bandcamp page, YouTube page, Spotify, Facebook and more. Carnosus was heading outside Europe for the first time in June 2025. The band was headlining the Maple And Mayhem Tour of Canada with openers Carrion Vael and Apogean.
