History & Biography Speed metal band Armory (sic) was founded in the summer of 2012 and released a limited edition demo called Open Fire in 2013. The group calls its style, “hyper speed metal.” Guitarist Ludvig Arlebrink and bassist K.Bengtsson had already departed. G.Sundin switched to guitar from bass. Jesper Lundin shuttled in.
S.M.I., which was an abbreviation for Speed Metal Island where the girls were clean, polite, untattooed, short-skirted, long-haired and sported massive breasts, the music was pure speed and heaviness, the food was organic, healthy and varied and the sun never shone, was released in 2015.
World Peace... Cosmic War was the debut album. The Search was supported through a video for the song Vault Seven. Live In The Abyss was recorded in 2017. It was distributed to the band’s fan club members, the Space Marauders. The group was booked for the Metal Magic and Noselake Metal Festivals in 2019. Concerts with Crystal Viper in Europe were inexplicably cancelled. The band was supposed to open locally for Agent Steel, but the Americans did not show up. Mercurion was on a new label. It was a concept album named after the god Mercurius, which here was the name given to a spaceship.
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the group announced a concert with Deathhammer and Warhawk for February 2023. The set list was to be voted on by the fans. The group announced a European tour with Acid Blade (which was also on Jawbreaker Records) for the autumn of 2023. Jawbreaker and Dying Victims Records released a 2025 7" called Black Star. Following the departure of singer Petrus Andersson in 2025, Armory was working on its next record with new vocalist Christian Andersen (Chris Rostoff) of Steel Inferno.
The band deals with space and aliens thematically. Gustav Sundin runs Jawbreaker Records.
