History & Biography Here's another black metal band from Germany which only met with very limited commercial success. The act was called Anus Praeter between 1993 and 1995. The band's known demo is 1995's Ancient Blood. Thereafter followed a split 7" with Impending Doom and an EP in 1997 called Assault Of Heathen Forces. The group was billed at PARTY.SAN-Open Air in 2002. The band toured Central Europe with Punish, Helfahrt und Helheim in 2006. Beast Awakening was the final album and a 2003 demo. The material, in fact, was recorded in 2001 and 2002.
The band claimed to be influenced by Venom yet featured keyboards. The band played its final concert in October of 2011, but activities had ground to a halt much earlier. Nick Putzmann, Patrick W. Engel and Eik Halle were the drum replacements for Kiper who had departed in 2000. The 7th Gate was a black metal band beginning in 1993.
