History & Biography
The death metal group Aydra was founded as power metal band Hydra (with founders Francesco Olivi and Mauro Pacetti) in 1985 before changing monickers in 1993. This explains the title Demo 4 in 1993. Demo 5 was called Penance Stare and released in 1994. An EP, called Psycho Pain Control, appeared in 1996. Albums arrived in 1999 and 2004. The group disbanded, and was to be called Hydra again, but no surprise returned as Aydra in 2013. Icon Of Sin Anthology was a 2016 compilation.

Rude Awakening Records signed Italy-based death metal act Aydra in 2024. The label was releasing the band’s back catalogue and Aydra’s new comeback album, which was due on October 10th. Mauro Pacetti was the sole original member left standing. There was a lyric video for Penance Stare. Rude Awakening Records released Hyperlogical Sin Live 2001/2013, which was a double live album from the Italy-based tech death band. It featured two complete live shows. The first set was recorded to commemorate Aydra’s reunion in 2013 capturing the current line-up’s performance. The second set took us back to 2001 and the band’s tour promoting its Icon Of Sin album across Europe. The band recorded and released its first new music in twenty years in 2024. The song Forever Hide was a part of a concept album scheduled for release in October 2024. Veteran act Aydra had a new album, called Leave To Nowhere, through Rude Awakening Records on October 10th, 2024. The song Psycho Pain Control 2024 was a self-cover version stemming from the 1996 debut EP. Leave to Nowhere told the harrowing tale of a migrant’s journey from Africa to Europe.
