History & Biography Banished from its original name by the German Baphomet, the Buffalo, USA-based death metal act returned with a new name as of January 1, 1993 and a strong album. Banished was supposed to also have a single on the Peaceville Collectors Club and to have released a 7" on Olympic Records. A single called Banished appeared in 1993. Bassist Schipani, who had founded Baphomet, left the fold before the album's release. The band was originally around, under this monicker, between 1992 and 1993. Of course, everyone is a conformist and, like everybody else, Baphomet (under the old name) returned in 2013. Cliche's persisted when after being booked for the A Day Of Death festival in Buffalo, NY on September 28th, 2013 not much else transpired.
