History & Biography
Reykjavík, Iceland’s death metal band Beneath would release a full-length album, The Barren Thorne, on April 29th, 2014 through Unique Leader Records. Polish producers Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawski produced the album. The group was formed in 2007 with members from nearly every other Icelandic death metal band. The quintet made its live debut supporting The Black Dahlia Murder in January, 2009 and after winning the inaugural Icelandic finals for the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle became the first Icelandic band to perform at the Wacken Open Air festival in August, 2009. More festival appearances followed, amongst others Death Feast Open Air in 2010 and Neurotic Deathfest in 2011. Previously the band had issued Promo 2009, Hollow Empty Void EP in 2010 and the Enslaved By Fear album in 2012.
