History & Biography
Biest was one of the pioneering East German metal bands having been formed in 1985 after existing for five years under another name playing bluesy rock. The band split up in 1999 having issued the 1987 7” EP Crash Trash and demos like Rundfunkproduktionen & Demos (‘radio production and demos’) and Only Tears. The last product had seen a shift from hard rock to speed metal for the act. The last release was 1998's Der Zocker. Keyboardist Volker Hiebsch was added just before the end.

The band played diverse cover versions of songs from Grave Digger and Slayer, in addition to originals, and was once called the best hard rock band of East Germany.
