History & Biography
Black Jade was formed in 1999 by Naragarth ad guitarist Nergal and produced a demo called Holocaust 666 two years later. The band featured Warbringer on bass, Dagaz on guitar and God Of Pain on drums, but all that ended with the release of the 2003 demo Forest Of Edoras. Since then Naragarth has maintained the band as his solo project. Two albums followed on Black Tower. The group announced a new album called Ash Nazg for 2009. The group is both nationalistic and a fan of J.R.R. Tolkein.

Reviews

BLACK JADE - HELVETICA DIABOLICA - BLACK TOWER
As if to emphasize the banality of intros on heavy metal albums Helevtica Diabolica begins with two intros. There are ambient and instrumental tracks interspersed on the disc here, although the music is devoid of keyboards or female opera vocals, although some backing vocals can be heard overdubbed on the album. Instead, Black Jade of Switzerland takes after Samael’s debut album, Worship Him, and releases atmospheric, dark, brooding, mid-paced infernal metal that has as much joy as a black hole. There isn’t much to write home about in the instrumentation department. The sole member, Naragarth, is a below average musician and instead focuses his efforts at creating a sinister sound that is captured on something like a 16-track. This is dry and absolutely uninterested metal with absolutely no commercial intentions. One just wishes they would have skipped the nationalism, silly hidden track and added some metal power. - Anna Tergel
