History & Biography
Blacksmith was a musically busy progressive hard rock act. 1980s' EPs were Gipsy Queen (1985) and Tomorrow's Mystery (1986) before founder Englund tried his luck with other acts. When JVC contacted the band regarding old recordings, the band did one better and reformed in 1997. The newer members had ties with Treat, Meshuggah and Hypocrisy. As with all these reunions, nothing much happened. There were reports of new material being composed in 2001 and 2008, but no release occurred. A 2018 compilation was called Gipsy Queen - The Early Years 83-86.
