History & Biography
The band was founded in 1995 and issued Demo’97 and then Miracles Of Sadness in 1998. Keyboardist Carla Marques died in 1999. The debut album was dedicated to her. She was replaced by Marta who remained until 2004. Dark Side Of An Angel was a 2001 EP. The group played at the Heavy Metal Festival with Oratory and tarantula in 2002.

Portuguese all-female metal/goth band Black Widows announced Among The Brave Ones as the title for its 2021 album, which was the act’s first output since 2002. The band had broken up and featured new members then. The membership was Rute Fevereiro (vocals and guitars), Solange Campos (bass), a returning Mónica Rodrigues (keyboards) and Marta Brissos (drums). Among The Brave Ones arrived in late 2022. Solange Campos left and Cátia Sofia Carvalho arrived on bass. The band was playing around Europe in 2024 including at Tromso Metal And Prog Fest, in Norway with Dreamslain and Dark Quarterer on November 29th.
