History & Biography
Bloodrain began pouring in Tver near the western border of Russia in 1995. Jan was briefly on bass to start. The band issued a demo called Смерть стучится в дверь or ‘death is knocking on the door’ in 1996. A demo, called Дети чёрной зари or ‘children of the black dawn,’ followed a year later. Jan was briefly fronting another local black metal group called Iscariot. Angam drummed there as well. The two bands were part of a short-lived pact called Tver Legions in the late 1990s and early 200s. Another demo tape was 1998’s Сердце тьмы. 2001 brought a new demo, De Vermis Mysteriis.

The band considered that last demo an album as the next one began the numbering sequence that would remain with the group’s releases. Bloodrain II: Ultimatum was issued in 2003. The label was known for its Nazi output. Ten Bestial Years was a tape compilation in 2005. Bloodrain III: Nomen Nostrum Legio came in 2006. Volh Records was the issuing label for IV. P. Diablo and Artem were new here. Six years passed until the next record, which featured a cover version of Slayer’s Evil Has No Boundaries. The band had landed on a new label. R666 and Ruslan were here, but the former was P. Diablo who was bassist Set’s brother. Drummer Stepanych came and went in 2011 when he was murdered.

Bloodrain’s Resurgam album was issued by Ketzer Records on 26.05.2022. Antotz was on drums and Tchull was on bass.

The band’s monicker was inspired by Slayer’s Raining Blood.
