History & Biography
The Hague-based Bodine had some bluesy elements within the heavy metal presentation. The earliest members were guitarist Rheno Xeros and drummer Gerard Haitsma. The band climbed the stage as early as 1979. While opening for bands like Krokus or Tygers Of Pan Tang may be normal, opening for Dexy's Midnight Runner was likely unconventional even back then. Lucassen was added to the line-up as a second guitarist beginning with Bold As Brass. He left in April of 1094. The band shared management, called D.R.M. or Dutch Rock Management, with Accept and Lucassen would later briefly join Accept. A US tour with Accept had fallen apart in 1983. Nonetheless, the band opened for Accept in The Netherlands in 1982.

Bodine was active between 1978 and 1984 and again in 1992 for a short little while. A 1992 demo featured singer Jay Van Feggelen, guitarists Oscar Holleman and Erik Van Der Ven, bassist Jeroen Bos and drummer Gerard Haitsma.

Three Times Running is generally considered the band's commercial foray. The group members desribed their outlook and musical approach as Bodinism. Singer Axel Joseph Langemeijer died in 2003.
