History & Biography The crossover band was active between 1993 and 1997 before disbanding. The standard reunion came in 2012. The group came in first at the Porto Modern Music Competition. The early demos were Atenção: Isto Não É Uma Demo Tape… (1993) and Brutal Intervention (1994). The group next appeared on a three-way split release with T.I.T. and Locus Horrendus. The group played shows up and down Portugal. The members picked up other projects, including the cover band Wild Bull, following the disbandment.
The band's return was followed by an appearance at the Vértice Festival, the XIV Blindagem Metal Fest and a 2013 demo called Survival. Cervical was recorded at the band's rehearsal space. This was pressed by Non Nobis Productions and Sasg Records on CD and LP in 2014. Firecum issued the next release. Hugo Lemos was the new drummer. Founding drummer Miguel Santos had left in 2015. Fuck S.P.A. was a split with Albert Fish. Also in 2017, the band had an EP called Drunkenstein. The Beers In Heaven EP of 2019 featured songs like Seyt-n, Americunt and There's No Such Thing As Too Much Beer (not a Tankard cover version!). Fuck Censorship of 2021 came with a censored cover that removed revealed D cups. Speaking of covers, 2022's The Hellzheimers was one of those cover version releases that everyone must do for some reason. The glammy Pussy Magnet EP packaged a few of the cover versions and had the band dress up as your typical NWOTHM band complete with the trendy cowboy hat.
Portugal-based Booby Trap had an album called L(i)mbo through Firecum Records as of December 1st, 2025. The thrash metal/crossover band switched gears after more than 30 years embracing its mother tongue exclusively for the first time.
Unlike other scenesters, Booby Trap's members are not in a dozen other side-projects simultaneously.
