History & Biography The heavy metal band Boss (1979 to 1986 and founded by Craig Csongrady) was characterized by a high-pitched singer and stinging hard rock comparable to Kix, Slaughter or Quiet Riot. The band had an international deal, yet despite playing with Iron Maiden, Dio and others failed to sell enough to keep RCA happy. Dancin' Queen was a 1985 EP. Drummer Tatts was replaced by Peter Heckenberg who would appear with Angry Anderson & Co. and Rose Tattoo years later. Coincidentally, Step On It was recorded with a drum machine and Tatts is omitted from several album band photographs.
The band was based in Sydney having moved there from Adelaide in 1980. A couple of members were in a follow-up act called BB Steal, which was merely rock.
