History & Biography
Boston's Bullet Lavolta, which crisscrossed punk, hard rock and alternative music, was inspired to pick the monicker from a letter written by poetess Marianne Moore to Ford suggesting the name be used for a car. The band was active between 1987 and 1992. The founders were alternative DJs. Chamber replaced Brennan in 1987 after the former decided to move to Italy for a year. Taang released a self-titled EP in 1988 and released a full-length the year after. This album was later sold to RCA and released there. The band toured with Corrosion of Conformity and Prong in 1991. The Gun Didn't Know I Was Loaded featured older and unreleased songs. Bill Whelan committed suicide in 2021. Clay Tarver became a Hollywood writer and showrunner.
