History & Biography
Ankara is the capital for the dictatorship of Turkey and also home to Carnophage. The band was formed in 2006 (with Berkan Başoğlu on vocals) and issued a debut, called Deformed Future//Genetic Nightmare, in 2008. Mert was the main songwriter. Turkish technical death metal band Carnophage released a full-length through Unique Leader Records in the autumn of 2016. Titled Monument, the nine-track CD was recorded by Unsal Ozata at Studio Deep. The next album only came in 2024. The band had switched to Transcending Obscurity Records. 2025 started with a gig with Asistolia, Glabrezu, etc., but was otherwise a down year for the group.

Mert and Serhat, who joined for the second album, are brothers.
