History & Biography
Yet another side-hustle, the band formed in Porto in 2024, after six years as a side-project of Rui Alexandre (Terror Empire), who had previously released the singles guilt(rip) and Worst Things First in 2020. With Gaspar Ribeiro (Equaleft, Terror Empire and session musician for other bands), Pedro Mota (Vurdalak), and Pedro Magalhães (Sotz'), the line-up was set for live shows. Chaosaddiction announced its debut album, Kintsugi, through Mosher Records for 28.03.2026. Recorded at Golden Jack Studio in Coimbra with João Dourado, Kintsugi delivered nine tracks compared to early '90s acts like Machine Head, Sepultura, Pantera and Fear Factory. The trend of everything Japanese was perpetuated by the band. "Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with precious materials, making it more valuable after being mended. That’s the theme of the album, for those trying to put their heart back together after heartbreak." There was a video for the song Sinto Muito featuring Portuguese lyrics. There was another video for the song Drama King. The band was booked for Riverstone Winterfest, Arcanxo Fest 2026 and more.
