History & Biography Grave Digger singer Chris Boltendahl’s solo project was put together in 2022 and released the man’s first solo album on July 28th 2023. The idea came to Boltendahl when an intended X-Wild reunion with him in the band fell apart. Using the Chris Boltendahl's Steelhammer monicker, Reborn In Flames was issued through ROAR and featured guitarist Tobias Kersting (ex-Orden Ogan), bassist Lars Schneider (ex-Orden Ogan) and drummer Patrick Klose (Iron Savior). The album entered the Top 100 charts in Germany and Switzerland. Following a release concert the band played several concerts with Warwolf opening. The band was booked for the Andernach Metal Days of 2024 opening for UDO. Coincidentally, UDO’s 2014 album was called Steelhammer.
