History & Biography
Heavy metal band Chrome Molly's story is one of unfulfilled potential. The band was formed in Leicester, England and devised an up-beat hard rock. Bassist Nick Wastell was the singer between 1981 and 1983 before Hawkins auditioned and joined. Several members came and went and Chrome Molly released a debut that should have become bigger than it did. The band released a cover version as a single in the UK, an American single re-mixed by Don Dokken, got a deal with a major label and was given the opportunity to open for Alice Cooper in 1988. The act disbanded after ten years of activity in 1991. The band later reformed as Bulldog and recorded a demo, which did not yield the band a record contract. Several members were in a Van Halen covers band.

The return was in 2009. An album called Gunpowder Diplomacy was next. The record featured singer Steve Hawkins, guitarist John Antcliffe, bassist Nick Wastell and drummer. Hoodoo Voodoo added guitarists John Foottit (who joined Tygers Of Pan Tang in 2026) and Sam Flint and someone on keyboards called Chris D'Adda. There were UK gigs from 2013 to 2019. The band toured with Little Angels and Toseland, with appearances at Wacken and Hard Rock Hell in 2013. The band also booked a show in Spain in 2014. The band was opening for Graham Bonnet in 2016.
