History & Biography
with Winterfylleth in the winter of 2010. The Giants Of Auld from Scotland’s Cnoc An Tursa saw North American release through Candlelight’s Cult Series on March 26th, 2013. It was the debut release from the pagan metal band and featured several demo tracks. The Giants Of Auld, already released in Europe, was produced by Chris Fielding (Primordial, Electric Wizard, Napalm Death, etc.). The act was invited to Candlefest in the UK in 2014. Rene McDonald Hill added vocals to his repertoire in 2015. The band was billed at the Dark Troll Festival in Germany in 2016.

The Forty Five came in 2017. Scotland-based folk/alternative band Cnoc An Tursa ('Hill Of The Standing Stone') has a release called A Cry For The Slain through Apocalyptic Witchcraft Recordings on 24.04.2026. This album was originally announced for 2024.

Presumably, due to mixing soft and folksy melodies the band called itself "heritage black metal." The act likes to wear kilts.
