History & Biography Limburg, Belgium-based death metal band Crawlspace picked the same monicker as several other bands with the same name as of 1993. The band combined the rawness of hardcore with the deathly themes of death metal. The founding line-up was Brecht, Jurgen, Dominique and Wim. Back In Line was a 1996 demo. A 1997 demo was called Death Row and covered Agnostic Front. Don't Get Mad... Get Even! Was a 1998 demo that was also distributed by EPP Records. The Art Of Warfare was a split for the band and Belgian hip hop/hardcore act Full Court Press through the German hardcore label GSR (a.k.a. Gangstyle Records). It was billed as band “vs.” band. This led to an album called Enter The Realm Of Chaos. The act actually gave up at this point.
Like most groups, Crawlspace reappeared - in this case in 2011 - and like most reforming acts had limited output and activity. Most of the members were newcomers, but there was a return concert with Born From Pain. A couple of members had joined the death metal act Storm Upon The Masses in the meantime. Carved Into Flesh came in 2012 and that was that for this round. The artwork was handled by Brecht’s wife. The group played domestically in 2014. The band booked concerts in Germany and Sweden in 2015 with the latter being cancelled. The band had picked up Tom Lenaerts on bass and Ibanez Vanschooren on drums. Both were also in Our Hate. The Don't Get Mad… Get Even EP was reissued by Knives Out Records in 2017.
