History & Biography
Crescent professed to death metal in Egypt beginning in 1998 before partly relocating to Germany as Saleh had moved there for his studies. Thematically fantasy and Egyptian ancient lore were the themes the band covered. The act had begun life as a Dissection cover band however. The Edgar Allan Poe's Dreamland demo arrived in 1999. The Retribution demo arrived ten years later (a 2005 demo was trashed due to the band's dissatisfaction with the result). The follow-up demo arrived only five years later. It was called Pyramid Slaves. Ismaeel Attallah was the singer and guitarist. Amr Mokhtar was the drummer. The band and Invaders announced a gig in Egypt in 2014. The group was also at the Wacken festival in Germany in 2014.

Listenable Records picked up the act and released an album called The Order Of Amenti in 2018. Amenti refers to the Egyptian underworld. The recording process was challenging and the band eventually recorded the album twice. The group was booked for an Egyptian show called Metal Blast Festival. The group played in the UK in 2019. An appearance at the Dark Easter Metal Meeting in 2021 was cancelled due to the god of pandemic. Julian Dietrich drummed on Carving The Fires Of Akhet. Akhet referred to the hieroglyph for horizon. Crescent had a new studio album, called A Sacrament To Aur, through Listenable Records in the spring of 2026. Aur is an ancient Egyptian paradise. Guitarist Jake Shuker had joined in 2024.
