History & Biography
Toronto, Canada-based Crimson Shadows was formed in February of 2006. Two Hofing brothers were part of the line-up. They both came from Swords Of Scorn. Death, Power, Glory was the 2007 demo. Five years passed before more music emerged. The debut was issued through the fledgling STM (Spread The Metal) label. Some kind of a warrior/ogre was depicted on the cover having just visited McDonalds. The band competed in and won Wacken Metal Battle 2013, obtaining a contract with Napalm Records. The band was booked for the Spread The Metal Records' Spread The Metal Festival in Toronto, Canada in 2013. It really was just a show and not a festival. Headlining the show was Suffocation. Kings Among Men was released in the summer of 2014. Morgan Rider was on bass now. American thrash metal band Battlecross announced a short run of summer headlining dates with Canada's Wacken Battle winners Crimson Shadows and New York’s Ikillya. This was in 2014. The band also launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise money to tour Europe with Alestorm. This was after the band had signed with Napalm Records.

Nothing much happened next. Blackguard was opening for Crimson Shadows in Toronto at the Coalition on March 22nd, 2019. A song called The Resurrection was uploaded with a couple of cover versions on the side in 2020. That was six years after the band's album. Jimi Maltais had left in 2016 and returned in 2019. Upon losing Jimi in 2016, the band stated it would continue working on a new album. Blackguard's Paul Ablaze had fronted the band during this time. Hyperspace Metal Fest returned to Vancouver, Canada on April 10 and 11th. The band was slotted there in 2025.

Canada-based Crimson Shadows had a new album called Whispers Of War through Victor Records. Session man Alex Snape was on bass. The band was booked for Loud As Hell Open Air Festival, alongside the likes of Fallujah, Summoning The Lich, Starkill and Super Monster Party, in 2026.

Crimson Shadows was also the name for a Sweden-based rock band of the 1980s. The Crimson Shadow series by R. A. Salvatore is a fantasy trilogy from the 1990s.
