History & Biography
The Piedmont, Italy-based Cripple Bastards was called Grimcorpses for a year upon noisy formation before becoming Cripple Bastards in 1988. The founders were fourteen-year-old Giulio The Bastard (at first on drums and vocals) and seventeen-year-old Alberto The Crippler. The Baastard left in 1991 and rejoined in 1997. The Crippler left in 2000. Bassist Schintu The Wretched joined in 1998. Guitarist Der Kommissar joined in 2000. Drummer Al Mazzotti was with the band from 1999 to 2014.

Several split releases surrounded the dubiously-titled 1993 single, Lifes Built On Thoughts. More split releases followed. There was also a 1995 release called Frammenti Di Vita, which was one of those cover version records. This one covered Italian hardcore acts like Indigesti and Negazione. It morphed into a 2011 full-length with the same name. A full-length, called Your Lies In Check, was released in 1996. The band issued a live DVD called Blackmails and Assholism in 2007. Obscene Productions had captured the band at the Obscene Extreme festival of 2003 and on its tours of the USA in 2002 and 2003.

Cripple Bastards picked Variante Alla Morte as the title for its fourth full-length album, which was due for release through FETO Records in September 2008. The band released a four-disc box set, Age Of Vandalism, on Selfmadegod Records in the summer of 2009. It collected all of the band's demos and pre-vinyl recordings from 1987 to 1993. It offered no less than 1,036 songs! The band toured with Wehrmacht. Cripple Bastards had a new album on Relapse Records called Nero In Metastasi in 2014. The Italy-based grindcore band Cripple Bastards had been around for 30 years. Former Iced Earth drummer Raphael Saini joined the band in 2014. The band’s next full-length album La Fine Cresce Da Dentro (‘The End Is Growing From Within’) was issued by Relapse Records in 2018. There was a concert with Sudden Death. A 2019 MLP was a split between the group and Raw Power and called Japan Tour 2019. The band was invited to return to the Obscene Extreme in 2024 and grind at the Metal Italia Festival 2024. Eugenio Sambasile became the second guitarist in 2024. The band was invited to the Maryland Deathfest and was touring Japan in 2025.

Cripple Bastards released a new EP, called La Tua Foto Sul Marmo, through F.O.A.D. Records on 12.06.2026.

The band has two-dozen split releases, with bands like Agathocles, Comrades, Mass Separation and more, on the books.
