History & Biography Ida Evileye and Klara Force formed Stockholm’s Crucified Barbara in 1995, to the best of our knowledge, without a ‘Barbara’ amongst the ranks. The band was fronted by singer Joey Nine (who left in 2003) and was described as featuring elements of metal and hard rock.
The band at least issued three demos and toured Sweden. Its debut was recorded in 2004 and eventually given a release in 2005. Liquor And Poker Music set a May 30th, 2006 release date for In Distortion We Trust for America. Coldheart found time to contribute vocals to Babylon Bombs And The Bones. The all-female quartet spent the spring and summer touring Europe. The band issued the delayed Til Death Do Us Party in January of 2009 through GMR. Similarly delayed was the single Sex Action.
Crucified Barbara would enter the studio in the summer of 2011 to begin recording its third full-length album. It was due in the winter. The album was produced by Chips Kiesbye (Hellacopters, etc.). The band would play at shows like Hellfest in France and Stockholm Pride in the summer. Ida Evileye married Meshuggah drummer Tomas.
In 2012, Sweden’s Crucified Barbara signed a deal with Nuclear Blast for North America, New Zealand and Australia. The band's next album, The Midnight Chase, was due to be released in North America in the summer. In 2013 the band hit Canada for shows. It appeared on Verycords. Crucified Barbara next signed a contract with he Swedish Despotz Records for 2014. The band toured Brazil in April and, naturally, released a hot sauce. The band was completing its next album, which was due in August. The band announced that it would play at the Summer Breeze and Made Of Metal festival in Czech Republic, August 16th 2014. Crucified Barbara would release its next album, In The Red, on September 15th through Despotz Records. The album was recorded at Music A Matic studio in Gothenburg with producer Chips Kiesby. Crucified Barbara from Sweden threw in the towel citing a lack of joy as of June 2016. Three members ended up in a doom band called The Heard.
The band reformed in 2024. The re-union had the band booked for Sweden Rock Festival, taking place June 4-7, 2025.
