History & Biography
Following the departure of Fernanda Lira and drummer Luana Dametto from Nervosa they banded with now former Burning Witches’ guitarist Sonia “Anubis” Nusselder and former Hagbard guitarist Tainá Bergamaschi in a new death metal project Crypta. The newly founded all-girl project almost immediately signed with Napalm Records. Echoes Of The Soul was out in June 2021. There was a video for the song From The Ashes. The band announced a South American tour with Belphegor, Krisiun and Nervochaos for May 2022. Sonia left in 2022. Jéssica Falchi, known for a couple of cover bands, stepped in. Crypta opened for Morbid Angel in the USA in early 2023.

Crypta released a new album, entitled Shades Of Sorrow, through Napalm Records in August 2023. A song called Lord Of Ruins was available early. The band described the record as a semi-concept dealing with our psyche. Jessica Falchi, who was in a couple of cover bands, was in the act as second guitarist now. The band announced a tour of the USA for the winter of 2024. The act was booked for the Huginns Awakening Fest, Bloodstock and Summer Breeze 2024. The band was also confirmed For 70000 Tons Of Metal 2024. Carcass was booked for a North American tour with Hatebreed in 2024. Additional support came from Harm's Way and Crypta. The band and Aborted were touring Europe in 2025. Jéssica Falchi was out as of early 2025. The band reported all touring would continue uninterrupted. In The Otherside Tour was a 2025 tour of Brazil. Support came from Paradise In Flames, Allen Key and Hatefulmurder. Crypta was touring North America, using the In The Other Side Tour North America monicker, in the autumn of 2025. Sepultura announced an Irish concert for the 3Arena for Sunday, August 9th 2026. This is supposed to be the band's last ever performance in Europe. Support was to come from Biohazard, Malevolence, Sacred Reich and Crypta. The group was booked for Hellfest 2026.
