History & Biography
This German black metal band nicked its name from Lovecraft in the winter of 2004 and came out with the Zins Der Zeit demo in 2005. The Freie Geister demo of 2006 became the full-length of 2008. The band opened for Taake in 2009. Many members came and went. Martin Herfurth left in 2012. Ctulu would release its next full-length album, Seelenspiegelsplitter, on April 12th, 2013. The album will be introduced at two shows in Hamburg and Erfurt, Germany. It was issued by Nocturnal Empire. The band opened for Rotting Christ in Cyprus in 2013, Germany-based Ctulu issued a self-titled album through MDD in late 2016. Cultus In Tenebris was an EP in late 2017. The act split up in 2020, but of course promised 'farewell' concerts and the option to reform (which every band exercised regardless).
