Reviews

CULTUS SANGUINE - SHADOWS' BLOOD - CANDLELIGHT
Ah, a new release by UK's Candlelight and in one way or another it is a typical release for the label. The melancholy presentation, the border-line gothic music and song titles like The Calling Illusion, On These Nocturnal Wings and others come together to make the debut full-length release of Italy's Cultus Sanguine a routine venture. The album, the follow-up to an EP on Wounded Love, mixes the guitar with lots of melody to a brooding effect. The vocals come close to Cronos' at times, yet Cultus Sanguine is more for fans of goth rock than noisy black metal. Try the album if that sounds appealing. - Ali "The Metallian"
