History & Biography Finland-based Damage SFP had an album called Punished By The System through Samsara Records. The band’s previous incarnation was called Damage (between 1989 and 1996) and had interest from Noise Records in the 1990s based on its 1993 demo. The band had also made a promo tape specifically for Noise in 1994. November Born was the 1996 demo.
The band regrouped and returned in 2018. SFP stands for Suomi Finland Perkele and was tagged to the band’s monicker after reformation. Amazingly, the line-up was consistent. Nikkilä and Lipsonen talked and reunited and were soon joined by Remes. An album, simply called, Damage S.F.P. was released replete with 1990s’ material.
A tour in Russia was cancelled owing to the pandemic although the band managed to play the Baltic area prior to COVID-19 hitting. This included a showing at Russia’s Kaliningrad In Rock. The group appeared at Speed Metal Party in Tampere, Finland, on August 14, 2021 where Whiplash was supposedly headlining, but the Americans were absent due to the pandemic. The band was booked for concerts like Sopenkorpi Metalfest and Virkkula festival in Liminka in 2023.
