History & Biography
Italian band Darkend was formed in 2006 in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The band released a 2007 demo called Damned Woman And A Carcass. Italy’s Crash & Burn Records signed the band and, in March of 2010, issued an album called Assassine. The band toured with Rotting Christ, Samael, Melechesh and Keep Of Kalessin, Two years later, however, the band had to release a demo called Grand Guignol - Book I. Non Serviam Records would issue Darkend‘s The Canticle Of Shadows on April 25th of 2016. The album featured Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Niklas Kvarforth (Shining), Sakis Tolis (Rotting Christ) and Labes C.N. (Abysmal Grief) on vocals. Vinterskog joined on bass in 2016.

Spiritual Resonance was a new album on a new album in 2019. The band played at Midgardsblot. Nothingness quit and guitarist Acamar joined in 2022. The band opened for Naglfar and played with Enisum and Spells Of Misery in 2023. It was also completing work on its newest album. Time To Kill Records signed in 2024. The band was to release Viaticum in June 2024.

The band has called its music 'extreme ritual metal.'
