History & Biography This Chicago band began as a traditional metal/speed metal act in 1989, yet added other influences as time passed. Members had come from Metal Reign and, indeed, some Metal Reign music seeped into Darklin Reach. The Impact And Elegance demo of 1990 was published in two versions with two cover artworks. The imprint was called Gold Coast Records.
Where Evil Dwells was produced by Savatagians Steve Wacholz and Jon Oliva. The band split definitively up in September of 2001. The members promised to stay active in music. The final drummer, John Osborn, would be heard with Circle II Circle (featuring Zak Stevens of Savatage) and Doctor Butcher (featuring Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery of Savatage) later.
Darklin Reach is a recurring location in the Shannara mythology. It was introduced in Terry Brooks’s The Wishsong Of Shannara, wwhich was published in 1985.
