History & Biography
The black/death metal act was founded in 2004 and issued a demo/EP, called Purifying Consecrated Ground, in 2005. The debut album was issued in 2008. Dead Congregation had a song called Martyrdoom, which was the monicker for a Poland-based group, and was using its own label imprint called Martyrdoom Productions. The label's parent was called Nuclear Winter Records, which was derived from the founding singer/guitarist and drummer's former band, Nuclear Winter. This label was managed by Anastasis Valtsanis. Nuclear Winter itself had a song called Dead Congregation.

The act was booked for Kill-town Death Fest in 2010. Engulfed opened for Dead Congregation in Turkey. The Congregation Of The Obscure - European Tour 2012, featuring Dead Congregation and Infinitum Obscure, was presented by Germany's Iron Bonehead Productions.

There was a mini-tour with Pissgrave in the USA in 2014. Carnal Tomb's drummer Vomitchrist borrowed its name from a song by the band. Graves Of The Archangels was reissued by Martyrdoom in 2016. Sombre Doom was a 2016 EP. Sacral Rage opened for Dead Congregation in 2017. Relics Of Humanity toured Europe with Dead Congregation in 2017. Deströyer 666, Dead Congregation and Nocturnal Graves toured Europe in 2019. Blood Incantation and Dead Congregation toured Australia in 2022. The band also returned to Kill-Town. Greece-based death metal band Dead Congregation had a 2-week tour of North America in September and October. On select shows openers were Cruciamentum, Caustic Wound, Corpus Offal and Blasphematory. Antonis Lambrakis and Vasilis Nanos became the second guitarist and drummer in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Co-founders V.V. and T.K had left in 2024 and 2023. The band was returning to Australia in 2026. Along for the tour was Concrete Winds. The band was booked for CastellHell Reborns in Spain in October 2026. Dead Congregation was booked to close 2026 in Mexico.
