History & Biography Dead End Finland is a melodic modern metal studio band from Helsinki, Finland, formed in 2007 as Dead End. Santtu was the founder. The name changed three years later given the other Dead Ends around the world. The group is noted for its rare stability, having retained the same line-up since its inception: Mikko Virtanen (vocals), Santtu Rosén (guitar and bass), Miska Rajasuo (drums), and Jarno Hänninen (keyboards). The music blends melodic death metal, and these being Finns, with symphonic and electronic elements.
Inverse Records signed the band in 2012. The band debuted with the Stain Of Disgrace demo in 2011, followed by Season Of Withering in 2013 before Slaves To The Greed arrived in 2017. Inter Vivos was called more aggressive and was supported by lyric videos. The band has maintained an emphasis on videos. Victory (2023) is considered less metal than the rest. The band began uploading songs from its 2025 album in that year. Yet, it reported recording vocals for the aforementioned next album only in March of 2026.
Singer Virtanen contributes art to the band and other acts.
