History & Biography
Death Commander, featuring an international cadre of musicians, was founded by guitarist George in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland in 2018. Bassist Marek created the band's logo. A fascination with World War I was already apparent with the Summer Offensive '18 demo. World War I had concluded in the autumn of 1918. The group was billed for Barther Metal Open Air in Germany in 2019. German singer Kruxator, who owned Warhorn Records, signed the band and issued the Pro Patria Mori album. The title is Latin for 'to die for one's fatherland' and often deployed by militarists and other fools. The music was recorded in Switzerland, while the vocals were taped in Estonia. The band opened for Carnation, Body Harvest and Divulsor in England. George was out as of 2024.

Never To Grow Old was issued by Warhorn, Macho and F.D.A. in May of 2025. The band issued a video for the song Bayonet Drill. Scotland-based Death Commander had an EP called The Great Offensive through F.D.A. Records in 2026. Oli Stübi also joined the veterans Messiah in 2026. Frugi (Patrick Hersche) had played bass on Pro Patria Mori and had also been in bands like Creepozoid and Requiem with Oli. Frugi was also the bassist for Messiah.
